Pdf Summary
Gartner’s August 2025 forecast suggests that by 2030, most B2B buyers will prefer sales experiences with human interaction over AI alone. The key message is not that AI is unimportant, but that the best sales approach is a hybrid one: human plus AI.

AI is strongest at speeding up information access, automating routine work, personalising outreach at scale, and supporting early buyer research. However, as decisions become more complex or high-stakes, buyers still want human insight, empathy, judgement, and context—qualities AI cannot fully replicate.

The article explains three reasons buyers continue to value human sellers: complex problems need context, trust is built through real conversations, and overly human-like AI can feel unnatural or inauthentic.

For sales professionals, the prediction is presented as an opportunity rather than a threat. Sellers should focus on the skills AI cannot replace, such as active listening, discovery, negotiation, and emotional intelligence. They should also own the most valuable stages of the sales process, including solution co-creation, pricing discussions, value articulation, and closing. At the same time, AI should be used as a co-pilot to prepare insights, draft outreach, summarise data, and highlight competitive differentiation.

A strong sales strategy also involves clearly explaining to buyers how human sellers add value, such as interpreting data in business context or connecting solutions to broader goals.

Overall, the future of B2B sales is not human versus AI, but using AI to enhance human selling at the right time.
