Video Summary
The webinar, hosted by the Institute of Sales Professionals, focused on men’s mental health and well-being for International Men’s Day. Graham Smith introduced guests Sadie Restorick and Simon, co-founders of Wellitee Global, who shared recent survey findings and practical ways to support men in speaking up about mental health.

The discussion highlighted sobering statistics: men die by suicide at higher rates than women, are more likely to experience alcohol dependence, and are less likely to access mental health support. A survey of over 1,200 men found the biggest barriers to talking were mental health, sexual health, and finances. Other major concerns included work, relationships, isolation, shame, and not wanting to be a burden.

Participants explored conventional masculinity through live polling, with words like strong, confident, provider, and leader dominating responses. The speakers argued that these stereotypes can create pressure and silence, especially when men feel they must always “cope” or stay “in the box.”

The session closed with practical guidance: talk to someone trusted, use role models, seek peer support, build emotional honesty, and create safe, non-judgmental conversations. The webinar emphasized that opening up can help men feel less alone and more supported.
