Video Summary
The webinar explored how apprenticeships support sales force development, with a focus on the Level 4 Sales Executive Apprenticeship. Hosted by Dan Hodgetts of the ISP, the session featured UCAS, training provider TACTI, employer Tarmac, and apprentice Bianca Swain.

Shona Taylor from UCAS explained that apprenticeships are growing in popularity, with more young people and adults considering them as a route into work and progression. She highlighted the flexibility of apprenticeships, the 20% off-the-job training requirement, and UCAS tools like vacancy boards, CV support, and virtual work experience.

Marcus Simpson from TACTI outlined the Level 4 Sales Executive programme, which lasts at least 12 months and up to 18 months. He described how it develops knowledge, skills, and behaviours through monthly workshops, assignments, reviews, and tailored support. He emphasized that apprenticeships are highly individualised and can be adapted to employer needs.

Mark Follows from Tarmac explained why the company chose apprenticeships over short-term sales training: to invest in staff, improve retention, attract talent, and gain a nationally recognised qualification that strengthens career development.

Bianca Swain shared how the apprenticeship has improved her confidence, sales technique, and practical performance, giving immediate workplace benefits while preparing her for endpoint assessment.
